Responsibilities of the Vehicle Driver and Vehicle Crew
- To have knowledge about the use of fire extinguishing devices,
- Not opening packages containing dangerous goods,
- Not riding in vehicles with portable flammable lighting devices and devices with metal alloy surfaces,
- Not to allow fire, open lighting and smoking in the immediate vicinity of the vehicles during loading, loading and unloading of the vehicles, not to keep objects with sparking properties and not to work with clothes with these properties,
- Keeping the engine of the vehicle off during loading, filling and unloading, except in mandatory cases,
- To ensure that the mandatory labels, plates and orange plates to be kept on vehicles and tanks loaded with dangerous goods are attached and that these labels, plates and orange plates are removed from the vehicles that have been unloaded and cleaned,
- Not to transport packages with damaged packaging,
- Not to carry out transportation in case of leakage of hazardous substances or in the event of such a possibility,
- Complying with the prohibitions and restrictions on the use of the highway,
- To check that the vehicle is loaded in accordance with its capacity limit and not to use a vehicle loaded above its capacity limit,
- Taking the measures specified in the written instructions in case of danger,
- Carrying the necessary documents and equipment during transportation,
- In the event of traffic stopping at tunnel, tube passage and bridge crossings, turning on the warning lights, paying attention to the safety distance between the vehicles in front and behind the vehicle and turning off the engine,
- Comply with ADR provisions concerning the use of tanks, engine operation and additional requirements for special classes or substances,
- Not to park vehicles loaded with dangerous goods or vehicles that have not been cleaned after unloading dangerous goods, except for the loading and unloading period, in residential areas,
- Keeping the vehicle loaded with dangerous goods parked with the parking brake set,
- If the dangerous goods being transported pose a risk to third parties, especially in the event of an accident or non-compliance, and if the risk in question cannot be eliminated immediately, to reach the competent authorities closest to the area where this dangerous situation occurs and to transmit or ensure that all necessary information is transmitted,
- Drivers must have an SRC5 type vocational qualification certificate or appropriate ADR certificate and carry the necessary equipment during transportation,
- Comply with the provisions on loading and handling specified in section 7.5 of ADR,
- They are obliged to check that safety precautions are fully taken in the unloading area and that the equipment used in the unloading process is working properly.
