What is ADR?

ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) is a directive that ensures the safe and orderly transportation of dangerous goods by public road without harming human health and the environment. This directive also determines the responsibilities, obligations and working conditions of the senders, receivers, loaders, loaders, unloaders, packers, transporters and operators and drivers of all kinds of vehicles carrying dangerous goods. The documents and certificates obtained under this regulation are called ADR certificates.

All parties have certain responsibilities in the transportation of dangerous goods.

Main responsibilities of dangerous goods producers/shippers;

  • Obtaining Dangerous Goods Activity Certificate
  • Having a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor
  • Use of Packages Certified with UN Number
  • Responsibilities Related to Marking
  • Responsibilities related to the ADR Transport Document

Responsibilities of the Transporter;

  • Having Authorization Certificate
  • Having a Permit Certificate
  • Obtaining Dangerous Goods Activity Certificate
  • Obtaining Vehicle Conformity Certificate for Tankers
  • Having a SRC 5 Certified Driver
  • Compulsory Financial Liability Insurance for Hazardous Substances and Hazardous Waste
  • Having ADR Kit (Personal Protective Equipment) in Vehicles
  • Availability of Fire Extinguisher Suitable for Vehicle Type
  • Employment of Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor
